Spiritual Formation
As a young teen I was haunted by the fear of death. The Lord used the persistent witness of my brother (saved two years earlier) to bring me to Christ. One night I read John chapter 3 and realized that I needn't fear death and that in Christ I "should not perish but have eternal life." Throughout my high school years I became rooted in a good church and youth group and grew in my faith. God taught me that he provides people in my life to accomplish His work.
Ministry Narrative
In 1980 my wife and I were youth leaders in southern New Hampshire. As the desire for full-time ministry grew, one day I floated the idea of selling our home and going to seminary. Suzanne said, "Go for it," and we did. That was the beginning of a 30 year adventure that led to two pastorates and the founding of three non-profit ministries. Along the way God blessed us with two wonderful children and confirmed my gifts of teaching and leadership. My wife has excelled as a teacher (New Hampshire's Teacher of the Year 2001) and been an invaluable partner in ministry. We are excited to continue the vision of William Carey, "Attempt great things for God, expect great things from God."
And now the adventure continues! Suzanne has accepted the position of Principal at Rye (NH) Elementary School. I am seeking the Lord's will for my continued ministry. While we are thankful for the past, I believe that God is most interested in our future. He is already there!
