No Boundaries
Most of us do well with boundaries. The parking meter has a limit; property lines discourage trespassers; the speedometer doesn't lie and neither does the clock. Most of us prefer to live within the limits of the law.
God's Law, revealed through Moses, was never intended to define our lives. That's why "legalism" is so dangerous. "The Law was our guardian until Christ came in order that we might be justified by faith." In Matthew 5 Jesus retrains His disciples to think beyond the boundaries of the Law to the regions of the heart, God's ultimate goal.
God is only pleased when His Law is fulfilled in us who seek to be conformed not to rules and regulations but to the image of Christ.
