Remember...

"Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come." - It is never too late to choose a relationship with Christ, but the years grow into risks that are hard to avoid: the risk of unhealthy relationships, hardened habits of self-indulgence and pride, a thickening wall of separation between you and the things of God, between your thoughts and His thoughts. Youth is especially vulnerable to change, as it should be. When character is being formed, it is like a river. It surges, changes direction and finally empties into stiller waters. So youthful faith in Christ shapes the man or woman who later enters into routines of work, marriage and parenting. All of these things will be directed by the earlier surges of youthful faith - or the lack of it.

My children may never read these words, or only after they have become older adults. They will not be new to them, for I have often urged them forward in Christ. If they take them to heart, they will be sheltered from the "days of trouble." They will know the peace and contentment we have known all the days they were with us and now. And it will take nothing on their part; no further schooling or special education. It is as simple as remembering.
